Second Age Campaigns

The second age is an age of upheaval and conflict. Following the fall of Morgoth the world was changed dramatically. Almost all of the land to the West of the Blue Mountains was destroyed in the cataclysm that marked the culmination of the War of Wrath. The first few years of the Second age are marked by tremendous migrations of peoples across Middle Earth seeking refuge from the destroyed lands.

Out in the ocean the island Kingdom of Numenor was created and is home to the growing population of the Dunedain who fought on the side of good in the wars against Morgoth. Blessed by the Valar these people thrive and prosper, and soon begin to spread around the shores of Middle Earth, forging a mighty empire.

Later in the Age, Sauron - mightiest servant of Morgoth - arises and seeks to dominate Middle Earth, and the rest of the age is marked by conflicts between the forces of good and evil. The works of Sauron include the Rings of Power, an attempt to subvert all the free peoples to his will.
